Informative & Encouraging One-Hour Workshop

Tuesday, August 16 at 7:00 pm

First Baptist Church, 401 East Main Street, Troy, NC

Providing care for a person with Alzheimer's disease can be incredibly difficult but also immensely rewarding.  Each day brings challenges as caregivers adapt to changing levels of ability, new behaviors, and the emotional toll of saying a long goodbye.  Research shows that caregivers without adequate support are at risk for depression and illness.

This one-hour workshop will increase your understanding of Alzheimer's disease.  You'll learn about resources available to caregivers, techniques for effectively handling typical behaviors associated with the disease, and ways to reduce stress and find the support you need to bring balance to your life.

Presenter Debbie Pilson is a regional elder care director for North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry NCBAM).  Debbie holds a master's degree in gerontology with a concentration in dementia from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Debbie has worked with dementia patients in their homes, adult day programs, assisted living environments and skilled nursing facilities.

For more information call NCBAM at 1-877-506-2226 or Debbie Pilson at 336-817-8615.
