Deep Impact Greensboro - Puts a smile on many faces!!
Posted by Debbie Pilson in category on June 22, 2012
"THEY HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL SPIRIT," says one older lady who lives in Guilford County and needed some yard work done. She continued to rave about them. "They did a beautiful job. They really were a blessing to me....not only their work but to hear them pray for me. They were such an inspiration." Another older couple who needed some house cleaning done said, "They worked diligently for a couple of hours, and did a great job."
Another group built a wheelchair ramp for a gentleman and replaced deck boards at another home. They stayed busy the entire week and had fun doing various projects. A group went to a Respite Program at River Landing run by Adult Center for Enrichment to talk with the folks there, played cards with some, sang to them, prayed with them, and even took them out fishing at a pond on the property. One dear lady said "They have just made my week. I always have a good time here, but having these youngsters just topped it all off." One of the young ladies cried when she was saying her goodbyes and giving hugs. They got attached being with the dear people for three days.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the youth of Deep Impact Greensboro for your kind, loving, fun spirits. Thank you for helping the people in the community, making their lives a little richer, putting a smile on their faces. Thank you, Adult Center for Enrichment for inviting us to one of your facilities/programs so we could experience the joy of being with older adults and some younger ones with disabilities. Thanks to everyone who allowed us to come to their homes and help out. Being able to help others brought joy to us and put a smile on our faces too!!
